Opening scene

Have you ever stood before an important moment and felt a nameless shyness and self-doubt? In the mirror you never seem good enough, and the courage to stand at the centre of the stage is missing. You want a strength that does not make you sharp. You want a steadiness that rises from inside, so you can trust that your own light is already there.

That strength sits in jasmine oil. Called the king of essential oils, its rich, warm, slightly animal depth grows thicker at night, as if it were saying: do not be afraid. In your own world, you are the one at the centre.

Then and now: a king of scent under moonlight

Jasmine (Jasmine) is honoured as the king of essential oils, answering the rose, often called the queen. Native to India, it often opens at night, and the scent peaks then, so it is called the queen of the night. In Indian culture, jasmine is the flower on the arrow of Kamadeva, the god of love, a sign of sacred love and desire. Warm, sensual, and full of force, the scent has long been a quiet way to lift confidence and kindle warmth.

A familiar magic: a lift for confidence

Jasmine is a strong aromatic ally against low mood. It meets discouragement, pessimism, and a lack of confidence with real effect. The scent acts on the brain and can raise serotonin, the “hormone of ease,” bringing a warm, optimistic, unfrightened sense of well-being. When your sense of your own worth is low, jasmine is a solid support at your back.

A queen’s presence

  • A perfume for the bright moment: in 10ml of jojoba oil, add 1 drop of jasmine, 2 drops of sandalwood, and 3 drops of bergamot. Before an interview, a talk, or a meeting that matters, apply it to the wrists and the chest. The scent can make you feel held by a calm presence.
  • A gentle hold through the low mood after birth: jasmine is well regarded for easing the emotional dip after childbirth. Place 1 drop of jasmine on an aroma stone by the bed. Its warm energy can give a new mother solid inner support.
  • A warm comfort in the diffuser: when you feel lonely or discouraged, diffuse 1 drop of jasmine with 3 drops of sweet orange. It can clear the grey and bring a warmth and a hope like sunlight.

An unexpected talent: a pump of spring for the skin

Jasmine is not only a sovereign of mood. In skin care, especially for skin that is dry, older in feel, or short of spring, it performs at a queen’s level. It supports the renewal of skin cells and the skin’s elasticity, and it is well regarded for softening the look of scars and stretch marks.

A return of spring to the skin

  • An evening facial oil for firmness: in 20ml of carrier oil (rosehip or argan, for example), add 1 drop of jasmine, 2 drops of frankincense, and 3 drops of lavender. Used at night, it can lift the feel of firmness and sheen.
  • A massage oil for stretch marks: in the later months of pregnancy and after birth, dilute 1 drop of jasmine in 10ml of carrier oil and keep massaging the abdomen, hips, and thighs. It can help prevent and soften stretch marks.

The blooming of the soul: holding your inner light

The energy of jasmine is about self-worth and warmth. It helps break the inner limit of “I am not enough,” so you can see and hold your own particular charm. It encourages a brave showing of the real self, without fear of other people’s judgment. The scent says: your being here is already something to celebrate.

Find your own light: when self-denial closes in, or you feel small in a relationship, apply a trace of jasmine, diluted, over the heart. Close your eyes and feel that warm, full floral scent. It helps light the inner glow and reminds you how precious you are, and how worthy of love.

A quiet note from the small cosmos

  • A king’s price: like rose, jasmine takes an immense amount of flower. About 8 million (8,000,000) fresh jasmine blossoms yield 1 kilogram of jasmine absolute, so the price is very high. It is often sold already diluted in jojoba, which keeps and uses more easily.
  • Extracted as an absolute: jasmine usually exists as an absolute (Absolute), obtained by solvent extraction, which keeps the complex scent molecules as fully as possible.
  • Late pregnancy only: jasmine can warm the uterus and support an easier birth, but it should be avoided in early and mid pregnancy.

Jasmine, crowned in the moonlit night, uses a warm and splendid scent to give us a solid confidence, so we dare to bloom, on the stage of a life, with a light that belongs only to us.
